Back when people were traveling freely, my family I and enjoyed a nice break from routine that included some sun, warmth and culture.
I felt recharged. The beauty of getting away from it all is the perspective it brings to my life. I almost always return from a break fuelled with more clarity and purpose than before I left.
Or maybe it’s all in my head.
Think about it. Even though just a short time may have passed, getting away from it all can seem like much longer. And it’s not like anything at home has even changed while you’re gone. It’s your perspective that often changes.
Taking breaks routinely is helpful on so many fronts. It can…
*Help breathe new life into a project you’re working on.
*Provide space for fresh ideas to emerge.
*Introduce you to new ways of seeing the world and your role in it.
*Help you let go of patterns or plans that aren’t serving you.
If you want to thrive in your health and your life, you need to cultivate a healthy mindset. Positive change doesn’t happen over night. It is an ongoing process that is very rewarding if you stick with it. Stepping out of a routine that you may have been following for years is a great way to make space for new things.
While travel is not a possibility for most people at the time of this writing, in winter of 2020, you can still take space to recharge. Looking for new ways to allow your mind to wander and renew can be the result of many creative ideas you conjure up with friends or loved ones.
Change is good
Reframing your thinking to view new healthy habits as good is a must. That’s why engaging with people who are on a similar wellness track is helpful. When I was shifting out of my junk food diet years ago, I found it incredibly inspiring to read stories of others who had achieved the results I wanted. I gained inspiration and ideas from them and began feeling better than I ever thought I could.
What began as a way for me to feel my best turned into a platform to help people just like me. Now, I find it so rewarding to help women identify and prioritize their self-care so they can thrive in their many life roles. I’m grateful to be of service.
