Lose Weight Not Nutrients

Weight Loss Goals.

Losing weight is on the minds of many for good reason. Obesity is still on the rise. Even while the ‘Gram is a constant loop of muscular selfies and super-human yoga pose videos. How do you break the code? How do you take in enough nutrients while eating less?

Is This You?

You’ve jumped right in, followed the new fitness routine to the letter, cut out the junk food, and restricted calories. So why all of a sudden do you feel lethargic? Even though you’ve upped your intake of water and fresh vegetables, you’re stuck at the same weight and feel a cold coming on.

First off, when you begin or increase the intensity of an exercise program, your body gets thrown into a state of shock. When you put greater stress on your body, it immediately goes into self-preservation mode. This ensures that you have enough nutrients and fat available to perform important functions.

Over time your body adjusts to this new level of activity. When you restrict calories however, your body has less nutrients to draw from in order to perform at an optimal level.

It’ll Cost Ya.

A study published in the Nutrition Journal compared the nutrient values of food consumed by women following two different weight loss programs. They both followed a similar calorie meal plan that had healthy ratios of carbohydrates, proteins, and fat.

The difference was that one of the two groups incorporated fortified meal replacements and supplements. The findings revealed that the group who didn’t supplement had a “significant lower dietary intake of several vitamins and minerals.”

Cellular Basics – The Science of it all…

Your body is made up of trillions of cells that require a specific mix of micronutrients to divide, grow, and multiply. Each of these cells supports the intricate functions that your body performs without you even thinking about it.

When your diet is lacking essential nutrients, this process is interrupted and over time your body’s delicate balance is thrown off. This is how individual health can be compromised over a number of years.

Happy Cells, Happy Body.

Fortunately there’s a flip-side. When you give your body the best micro and macronutrients, it will thrive! You’ll see shorter exercise recovery time, fewer cravings, sustained energy, and glowing skin.

So how do you get more nutrients from less food? Supplementation.

Eating healthy, balanced meals is fundamental to weight loss. The tricky part is restricting calories and still getting enough of the proper nutrients. Start by supplementing with a high quality multivitamin/antioxidant and mineral complex.

I find The Cellsentials the best value and highest quality available. Ensure you’re getting enough fibre, eat 3 balanced, whole food meals a day, get adequate sleep and drink 8-10 glasses of filtered water a day. This aids in digestion and gives all those amazing vitamins a way to absorb into your body.
