What speed is your life running at these days? Do you feel like sometimes your good intentions get swept to the side because you can’t imagine how you’ll fit them in?
Many of us can relate. Making a change in any area of your life can be a big deal when it’s new. Whether you’re wanting to adopt a new wake/sleep-time, a new workout, or a new menu, the ‘newness’ is the culprit.
The feeling of the familiar is so, well, familiar! And comforting. Even if it’s not getting you the life satisfaction you’re after. This is why so many of us stall out early in the process.
So what to do?
I’ve been following a few writers as they are authoring new books. They get down to the nitty gritty about what they go through in the creative process. They labour over words for a living. It’s a painstaking and beautiful process.
The one thing they all attribute their success to is this: Showing up.
Some days they may write less than others, but day after day, showing up at their keyboard, gets the job done. And they reap the rewards of creating something beautiful. Not to mention having a tremendous feeling of accomplishment.
What if you applied this practice to the areas of your life where you want to see positive change? Put it on the calendar as a meeting – with yourself. Your workout. Your menu planning time. Your self-care practice. Whatever it is that you feel like is impossible to ever get to can be life changing it you show up for it consistently.
Never have I felt the need to simply show up more than recently. It’s when life goes off the rails from the usual predictability that life can overwhelm us so easily. For me, having personal priorities scheduled is a must. My workout, spiritual time and connecting time with others are non-negotiables. They are what fill me up to feel my best and be better equipped to give to others.
Wanna give it a try?  I encourage you to explore this and make your better-living dreams a reality.
Many Blessings,
Sheila
